All Ruger sniper rifle barrels feature 5-groove, right-handed rifling, minimum bore and groove dimensions, minimal clearance, centralized chambers, and a removable protected 5/8" threaded cap. It features a 24-thread muzzle, allowing the use of a muzzle brake, flame arrester, or silencer (where legal) to remove and replace the barrel.
The Ruger Precision Rifle also features the company's proprietary Precision MSR stock, with a quick-detach sling attachment point, a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail on the underside, and a buffer tube-mounted left-hand folding hinge. Both receivers on the Ruger Precision Rifle are machine made. The lower half is precision machined from aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum forgings and Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability. The upper receiver is precision CNC machined from pre-hardened 4140 chrome steel to minimize distortion.

The same material is used to make the one-piece bolt, and it features three locking lugs, dual cocking cams, a 70° turn, and a smooth-rotating full-diameter body. The bolt handle is oversized for aggressive operation and is mounted on a 5/16''-24 thread for easy replacement. A bolt removal tool is included with every Ruger sniper rifle and stores in the bolt housing for easy cleaning of the firing pin channel.

Another feature of the Ruger Precision Rifle is the Ruger Marksman adjustable trigger, which is externally adjustable with draw weights ranging from 2.25 pounds (approximately 1 kilogram) to 5 pounds (approximately 2.27 kilograms). The adjustment key is the same as the one stored in the bolt cover and can also be used to adjust the height of the top picatinny handle or to remove the bolt.
